Frank Eber was raised in Europe and was mentored by Italian master painter Renato Casaro in 1994-95. In the ’80s and ’90s Frank worked as a professional illustrator and as a portrait artist by commission. His love of travel has given him prime opportunities to paint: he lived for three years in the south of France, and has painted on location in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic. He has also painted in California and other parts of the United States.
Frank is a Signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, and Watercolor West. He was recently accepted as an Artist member by the prestigious California Art Club. His painting Through The Very Heart Of It is included in the American Watercolor Society’s 146th Annual International Exhibition (April 2-22, 2013) and Traveling Exhibit (May 4, 2013-March 30, 2014). He is increasingly in demand as a judge and juror.
Frank conducts workshops and demonstrations locally and at the national and international levels. He teaches classes, both in-studio and en plein air, by request. Please see Workshops/Demos for current offerings, and contact him for more information and scheduling. While painting en plein air in Nuremberg in 2012, a bank truck parked right in front of his painting set-up; he asked them to move and, incredibly, they did.
He is married and lives in Redondo Beach, California.
Lack of basic drawing skills, sloppy and amateurish brushwork, little to no improvement over the years.
